Sunday is Mother's Day, and I thought I would repeat my podcast from May 6th last year (Podcast #5 in our series). The theme of the montage was flowers and a pair of opera selections about Mothers.

The "feature work" for that montage was Falla's Nights in the Gardens of Spain for piano and orchestra, in a CBC Recoirds performance by canadian pianist Angela Cheng and the Calgary Philharmonic under its then-Music DIrector, Hans Graf.

To complete this encore podcast, here are a few bonus tracks from my YouTube channel. Two of the tracks are repeats from the mointage, with a twist: Deanna Durban sings 'Tis the Last Rose of Summer and Connie Francis sings her version of Puccini's Senza Mamma.

Also on the bonus playlist, a concert performance of Cesare Andrea Bixio's Mamma by Luciano Pavarotti and Clara Haskill plays Mozart's twelve variations on the French nursery rhyme "Ah ! vous dirai-je, maman" known in the English-speaking world as "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star".
